Andalucía Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the youngest Spanish symphonic groups. It was created under the initiative of Javier Yera and it made its first appearance on the 21 th October 2004 in a concert at Auditorio de la Alameda de Jaén.

Among its principal concerts mention must be made of its performance with singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat in the “Serrat Sinfónico” Concert, its participation in the XVII Festival de Música y Danza de Úbeda, IV Festival de Música y Artes Escénicas de Linares, XI Festival de Música de Fuengirola, XXXVII Festival de Música y Danza de Trujillo, VII Festival Internacional de Música “Pozuelo Escénica”, Festival de Otoño de Jaén. . It has held concerts in all the Andalucian provinces, outstanding being the Concierto de Inauguración de la Sede Cultural de Adra de los XV Juegos del Mediterráneo Almería 2005 with a prescence of five thousand people.

 

It held educational concerts with Fernando Argenta and Fernando Palacios in different Auditoriums and theatres, the most significant being the narrated version of Vivaldi’s Seasons and Peer Gynt for invalid persons, organized by the Consejería para la Igualdad y Bienestar Social de la Junta de Andalucía.

 

The Orquesta Filarmónica de Andalucía has set up a special programme to commemorate the 250th anniversary of W. A. Mozart, playing the first and last of his geat works: the “1ª Sinfonía Op.16″ and “Réquiem Op.626″, accompanied by the Orfeón Donostiarra.
